In CAPCOM's latest entry in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil Village ( US$49 on Amazon for the PS4 version), the opposite seems to be the case.Īccording to Ars Technica, the cracked version of Resident Evil Village runs considerably better than a legit copy of the game. This can be caused by the sketchy modifications that have to be made to circumvent the DRM mechanism or by the fact that illegally downloaded games often cannot be updated as easily as original copies. Whoever downloads an illegal copy of a video game usually has to live with the fact that the game will not run as well as an original copy.
